About Course
MY MOTTO FOR THE WEEK: My day depends on me!
Words of the Day: Personal Accountability, Responsibility, Self-Reliance, Leadership, Dependability
Key Insights:
- How you think about your life determines how you experience your life because if your thinking is under your control, then how you experience your life is also under your control.
- Knowing that your day depends on you is a life skill. People often call developing life skills social-emotional learning, or your Emotional Quotient, (EQ).
- Emotional Quotient (EQ) can be thought of as people smarts, or how you think and communicate with yourself and others.
- Intellectual Quotient (IQ) can be thought of as book smarts, or your academic knowledge, or school smarts.
- Developing both your EQ and your IQ will help you become the best version of yourself.
How can my thinking make my life better or worse?
- Perspective – There are always different ways to look at the same thing. For example, some people think school is boring, while others think school is fun. It’s the same school, but everybody has a different perspective. You can change your experience of school when you change your perception of school.
- Gratitude – When we focus on what we are grateful for, we tend to feel better because we notice all the good in our life.
- Temporary – When you are having a bad day, remember that bad days are temporary. They will not last.
The “Think About” for today:
- How do you think (IQ), or school smarts will help you in life?
- How do you think (EQ), or people smarts will help you in life?
